Born on 23rd August 1972, Pandit Umesh Chaudhari is a Hindustani Classical Vocalist from Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, deeply rooted in the traditions of Agra and Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. Known for his soulful command over Khayal, Dadra, Thumri, Vaarkari Bhajans, and Light Classical forms, he has devoted his life to preserving and propagating the rich heritage of Indian classical music.
Born into a family immersed in devotional music traditions, he inherited the spiritual and musical legacy of renowned Vaarkari Bhajan Sampradaya singer Pandit Nivruttibuwa Chaudhari, under whose guidance he began his early musical journey.
From an early age, Pandit Umesh Chaudhari received rigorous training in the Vaarkari Bhajan tradition from his father, Pt. Nivruttibuwa Chaudhari. This early exposure laid the spiritual and artistic foundation for his musical discipline and performance style.
His inclination towards Indian Classical Music led him to undergo extensive training under Ustad Aslam Khan of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana for nearly a decade, where he developed a deeper understanding of Khayal gayaki, voice culture, aesthetics, and classical improvisation.
